Thursday, November 15, 2018. KILG Main Terminal Conference Room. WINGS Seminar. Topic: The Hazards and Avoidance of Aircraft Icing. Aircraft Icing during flight can be catastrophic. It disrupts the flow of air over the aircraft diminishing the wing's maximum lift and propellor's thrust thus reducing the angle of attack for maximum lift, which in turn, adversely affects an aircraft's handling characteristics while significantly increasing drag. https://www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.aspx?eid=85481&caller=/SPA...

December 1, 2018 rain/snow date December 8, 2018 . Tangier Island 50th Annual Holly Run. http://www.tangierhollyrun.com/

Sunday 2 December 2018. Massey Aerodrome & Air Museum. Come to our Party, Rain or Shine. Help us celebrate our progress and new projects. Friends are invited to bring a covered dish item or hors d’oeuvre (not a requirement). Expect to see many interesting planes - weather permitting. There’s always plenty of food, so renew old friendships and meet others who love aviation. As always, keep an eye out for "no-radio" aircraft. Winds permitting, we usually use Runway 02 for arrival on event days, if not - we have widened the west side “Back Taxi” lane. Remember it’s the first SUNDAY of Dec.! Food served at Noon. https://masseyaero.org/event/18th-open-hanger-party-fly-in-at-massey-aer...

Saturday December 15, 2018. Bloomsburg Municipal Airport. Bloomsburg Airport Chili Cook-Off! 11:00 am. We aviators, who enjoy the wonders of human flight, comprise a small percentage of the population. We are uniquely placed to introduce others to the joys of flying and to provide transportation services that only aircraft can perform. This seminar will discuss how we can fly legally and safely for charitable, non-profit, and community events— as well as for "public benefit" flying organizations. Representatives from those organizations also will give brief presentations on the work that they do. Join us at this WINGS-credit event, and learn how to give back in aviation—legally and safely! http://www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.aspx?eid=87537
